Description

“The Way of Tea: Harmony and Home in Kansas,” presented by Ayako Mizumura, explores the Japanese tea ceremony and its meaning for Japanese people living in the United States, including those who settled in Kansas after World War II. The presentation includes a brief historical background of the traditional ceremony, a live demonstration, and an opportunity for guests to taste matcha tea. Mizumura owns a Japanese bakery and researches Japanese migrant history in Kansas. Each presentation will take place from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Arrow Cocktail Lounge, 418 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, Kan., 66502 as part of Arrow Cocktail Lounge's Drinks & Thinks series. Presentations are free, but reservations are required at https://www.exploretock.com/arrow-cocktail-lounge-manhattan and spots are limited.
