Description

Explore, Learn, and Grow at Grounds for Growth

Enjoy fresh coffee and pastries while connecting with fellow young professionals in a space designed for learning, inspiration, and meaningful conversation. We are pleased to welcome Sheila Ellis-Glasper as our October speaker.

With a background in journalism and features in national outlets including USA Today and CNN, Sheila understands how to position brands to stand out in competitive markets. As the co-founder of SEG Media Collective, she has spent the past decade helping organizations and entrepreneurs develop brand strategies that attract audiences, increase engagement, and drive measurable growth. Her work includes building nationally recognized social media programs at Kansas State University and supporting business development through the Kansas Small Business Development Center. Sheila is especially known for helping underrepresented and mission driven organizations clarify their brand, expand their reach, and compete at higher levels. Her strategies have supported organizations ranging from local startups to Fortune 500 companies.

In addition to her consulting work, Sheila serves as the Executive Director of the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills, where she leads initiatives that support and advance underrepresented business owners across Kansas. Sheila is also a sought after speaker and facilitator, delivering sessions that equip teams with practical strategies to strengthen their brand, grow their audience, and convert visibility into opportunity. Through her leadership with the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills, Sheila is currently guiding brand strategy and visibility efforts for the Yuma Street Cultural Center, including a $2.5 million capital campaign supporting its development and community impact.

We will also be featuring Bank of the Flint Hills as our Spotlight Investor for this program. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear why they believe investing in young professionals matters, learn more about their organization, and get a glimpse into the ways they support the next generation of talent in our community.
