SUMMARY:250 Years United in Service
DESCRIPTION:As the United States of America celebrates its Semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of its founding—in 2026\, this milestone offers an opportunity for reflection.\n\nThroughout Riley County’s history\, our residents have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to service. Its proximity to Fort Riley and location along the military trail to and from Fort Leavenworth fostered close ties between local communities\, the armed forces\, and first responders\, creating a lasting tradition of military support\, civic pride\, and service.\n\nWhether by volunteering for military duty during times of war or by offering support on the home front\, generations of residents have worked to honor veterans\, remember fallen soldiers\, and support those who serve right here in Riley County. This exhibit showcases the many ways that Riley Countians have met the call of duty and united in times of uncertainty. This year\, during America250\, join us in celebrating in whatever way compels you to observe. United we stand.\n\nThere is no cost to view this exhibit and it is open to the public during regular museum hours\, or by appointment.
